About Ginza Sushi
Ginza Sushi is a product of the Zushi team, which first opened in
Sydney
's famous
Victoria St
, Kings Cross (Darlinghurst) in 2005. Directors Raymond and Anthony started with a vision to create healthy, tasty and fast Japanese food and have been feeding hungry
Sydney
diners for over 6 years. In 2011 the team opened their 2
nd restaurant in Crown Street Surry Hills - a larger and more contemporary version of their little restaurant in the Cross.
Zushi is a multiple award winner. As well as being a Restaurant and Catering NSW Awards finalist in the 2007 Lifestyle Food Awards run by Foxtel, diners voted Zushi as the best Japanese restaurant in
Australia
. Foxtel again ran the Lifestyle Food Awards in 2009, and instead of the category being 'best Japanese', it changed to 'best Asian' - which meant Zushi would be up against many of the top Asian restaurants in the country - a very popular category indeed.
Not only did Zushi take out the 'best Asian' restaurant in
Australia
- it eclipsed that by taking out the 'best restaurant' in
Australia
! From the 100,000 people that voted, Zushi gained over 10% of the entire votes, with voting being cast from around the world. In late 2009 Zushi owners were invited to
Canberra
to be given the award in front of the best restaurant owners in the country. Not bad for a little Jap diner on
Victoria St
,
Sydney
.
The Head Chef is Mr. Joon Lee - Korean born but he has lived in
Japan
for most of his life, spending 15yrs in the kitchen of the Tokyo Hyatt, and then coming to
Australia
in the late 90's to open one of the top Japanese restaurants of the time - Taido in Kings Cross. Raymond and his family would eat at Chef Lee's restaurant for many years, and when the time came to open Zushi the deal was done and Chef Lee helped to launch the little restaurant, Zushi - and has been there ever since.
The
Ginza
philosophy is the same as Zushi Restaurants - provide sushi lovers with a premium, healthy and tasty option to the multitude of fast food and unhealthy options out there. A premium sushi option does not need to be expensive either! Ginza sushi is the same price as what you would get a the local takeaway sushi shop, with piece of mind that it was made fresh that morning by master sushi chef's under Mr Lee's instructions.
